The lighting in the garage has always been poor. The LED strip lights were the cheapo ones that the home builder installed and was not really good enough for a workshop. When we updated the garage door opener on the double car garage, that gave a huge upgrade by bringing in 6,000 Lumens over the standard opener which was like one 60 watt bulb.

The product itself came from Lowe's. It was on sale (50% off) so for 40 bucks, I got 2 of them. They are 8,000 Lumen 80-Watt Bell Howell QuadBurst LED screw in socket lights. The problem I had is that the strip lights didn't have an electrical box in the ceiling so I had to go up in the attic to install them. With the existing garage door opener, the new lights will give me 20,000 Lumens in the 3 car garage. I intend to replace the 3rd car opener with the same one I have on the double garage so that will give me a total of 26,000 Lumens when I'm done.

I did get the heavy duty electrical boxes for the ceiling so that there are no issues if I were to hang something heavier from them in the future. The sockets are porcelain to also give it some sturdiness over the plastic options.

The garage is a ton brighter, even to the point that I don't think I will need a dedicated workspace light over my work area. I'm looking forward even more now to doing new projects in this workshop.
